SPACEX PRESENTERAR STARLINK SOM USA:S GPS 2.0
I ett brev till FCC gjorde SpaceX sitt tydligaste fall hittills:
Starlink är inte bara för bredband – det är också redo att leverera positionerings-, navigations- och tidsbestämningstjänster (PNT).
Eftersom USA:s GPS-system är beroende av försvarsdepartementet tittar FCC på säkerhetskopior.
SpaceX säger att Starlinks flotta i låg omloppsbana runt jorden redan körs oberoende av GPS och kan tillhandahålla motståndskraftig och säker PNT globalt – inklusive i sin kommande T-Mobile direkt-till-cell-tjänst.
Pushen kommer när rivaler som Globalstar också gör sitt spel.
