SPACEX LANÇA STARLINK COMO GPS 2.0 DOS EUA
Em uma carta à FCC, a SpaceX deixou seu caso mais claro até agora:
A Starlink não se destina apenas à banda larga, ela também está pronta para fornecer serviços de posicionamento, navegação e cronometragem (PNT).
Com o sistema GPS dos EUA dependente do Departamento de Defesa, a FCC está de olho em backups.
A SpaceX diz que a frota de órbita baixa da Terra da Starlink já funciona independentemente do GPS e pode fornecer PNT resiliente e seguro globalmente – inclusive em seu próximo serviço direto para celular da T-Mobile.
O empurrão surge numa altura em que rivais como a Globalstar também fazem o seu jogo.
