SPACEX WERPT STARLINK OP ALS AMERIKA'S GPS 2.0
In een brief aan de FCC maakte SpaceX zijn duidelijkste zaak tot nu toe:
Starlink is niet alleen voor breedband, het is ook klaar om positionerings-, navigatie- en timingservices (PNT) te leveren.
Nu het Amerikaanse GPS-systeem afhankelijk is van het ministerie van Defensie, kijkt de FCC naar back-ups.
SpaceX zegt dat de vloot van Starlink in een lage baan om de aarde al onafhankelijk van GPS werkt en wereldwijd veerkrachtige, veilige PNT kan bieden, ook in de aankomende T-Mobile direct-to-cell-service.
De push komt omdat rivalen zoals Globalstar ook hun spel maken.
@Starlink ben net de GPS-ring binnengegaan.
