You heard it here first: soon (this fall? sooner?) there will be a full-press active measure we could title "What Is an American?" coming from the "New" Right.
The operational goal of this psy-ops will be to redefine Americans as a people in a place with a common destiny and to distance from the (strawman) argument that "America is an idea."
America, in truth, is based on an idea, which is the idea that a people can (mostly) self-govern and that greater prosperity is unleashed and available by doing so. An American, in the deep and relevant sense, is a citizen of the United States who believes in this idea and the "American Dream" it inspires and enables.
You could say that means Americans are a people in a place, but it's those people with citizenship who believe in this idea, not a particular people of a particular background or a particular ethnicity or historicity. This is a subtle swap from a collection of people with a common belief to a specific set of people-groups (identity-based collectivism).
The "New" Right needs to shift the conversation in that direction and away from the American Idea, which is prosperity through self-governance.
Make no mistake that this active measure is a sophisticated and deliberate attack against the American Constitution.
How so? If Americans are a people in a place (with a common destiny), the Constitution is derivative to and should serve those people (read: people-groups) and their common destiny. The name for this variant on the Living Constitution mentality is "common-good conservatism."
The "New" Right has already openly indicated its ambition to achieve not course correction but "Regime Change," switching to a new constitutional order accordingly. They have done this not just explicitly but full-throatedly, but they have to break Americans away from being American by getting them to redefine what an American is and what it means to be American to make it happen.
This new constitutional model is described (in writing) as a "mixed constitution," which blends monarchy (which Americans explicitly rejected as a defining act), aristocracy (an elitism that Americans like John Adams fought vigorously against), and limited democracy into a new system that isn't American. In fact, the "monarchy" aspect will be a "monarchial episcopate," meaning it will be directly and deliberately fused with a (or the) Church, if their designs go through fully. This, again, is un-American through and through.
For this "transformational vision" for America to get off the ground, good, solid, rock-ribbed conservative Americans will have to first misunderstand what it means to be American in the first place.
Therefore, you can expect this active measure from your conservative influencer class soon. Bookmark it.
