Incredible how spam calls are making the “phone” part of a phone unusuable for me. 10/10 of last calls from unknown numbers were spam. Had enough and no longer taking calls from unknown numbers. Last drop was a cold email sender calling my phone to try and get a response

Asked a few companies how they hire FDEs (forward deployed engineers). Head this article from @alexandr_wang referenced a few times as what worked well:

"I am a founder who is a dev and I don't plan to hire any employees right now because I would need to stop programming when I'm so productive right now" is a valid stance It also suggests you have no customers and no PMF just yet. You'd prob need help when you do get there tho

Over-discussed: "use AI to vibe code an app/idea" Under-discussed: "ship a product that customers love [because it solves a persistent pain point, is delightful to use, and just works]" Without the latter outcome in mind, you're mostly wasting time with the former...

An example of when something sounds too good to be true it probably is: “A platform where you can generate AI-powered, production ready apps.” Lots of vibe coding platforms make this claim: but none can actually deliver on it. It’s because of a mix of things (cont’d):

When you change how you ship software, roles around it can drastically change. A decade ago, Microsoft had the SDET role on most teams, because software was often shipped weekly/monthly or even less frequently. When this changed to several times/day the SDET role got in the way

Just as I said: Cognition needed the Windsurf product and brand, because developers don’t use (or trust) Devin, but they do trust and use Windsurf They probably don’t need the salesfolk they acquired though, same way Google didn’t need them (The buyout offer is generous btw)
