There are 20 Million, maybe more, foreign nationals who are unlawfully in the US. Whatever the net effect on the labor market vs costs (as America has gotten waves of illegal immigration since the 1986 IRCA, has a basic life gotten more affordable??) it inherently raises rents.

American single mom with 2 kids can’t find an apartment anywhere for under $2,300 in her city She decided she’ll just sleep in the living room and give her kids the bedrooms, she still can’t afford the minimum of what a 2 bedroom cost The cost of rent is a National Emergency, “When are we just going to put a cap on rent, because I swear to God, I've been looking. Places have gotten so expensive” The price of rent in America MUST be addressed, people can’t afford to live
Under the Biden admin, even the left & establishment stats admitted that there was at least a doubling of the number of illegal aliens in the US, with 10M joining the decade running “11 million” illegal alien number. Were 10M new housing units added in four years? Obviously not.
Even if we could *double* the number of houses we build a year, within a year, we’d be at just 3M homes annually. If we could *triple* that in turn, we’d still come up short. And even if we 10x it — do we pave over every last square inch of America’s Nature to do so? Ghastly.
