Wonderful week spending time with the @gloo team in person in Boulder. Enjoyed reflecting on the quarter, celebrating exciting milestones like the launch of the FAI Benchmark and getting to meet some of our amazing new hires!

Honored to speak with the amazing athletes and individuals at this year's Campbell Trophy Summit at @Stanford. I was fortunate enough to know Bill Campbell and his passion for authentic leadership was always palpable. This event is a lasting testament...and constant reminder...that exchanging ideas is crucial to personal growth and empowerment, something Bill believed passionately in.

Do AI models support human flourishing? This is a pretty important question to the industry (and to me personally). We cannot repeat the ills of social media click rates driving behavior...AI in general (and foundational models in particular) are much too important. To find answers, our team at @gloo has created the Flourishing AI (FAI) Benchmark. It introduces a new method to evaluate AI systems across seven dimensions: Character, Relationships, Happiness, Meaning, Health, Finances, and Faith. Our goal is to see all models reach flourishing standards at or above 90% and today that journey begins. We found that current AI models demonstrate strengths in pragmatic domains (like Happiness and Financial Stability), but all models fell short of achieving balanced performance across the full spectrum of dimensions, particularly struggling in ethical reasoning, existential reflection, and spirituality. We’re just getting started with the FAI Benchmark and are sharing it openly to invite peer review, refinement, and broader collaboration. Happy 4th of July! I’m thrilled to have family from both coasts together for a reunion at our house for the holiday. A weekend of wonderful chaos including my now 94-year-old Mom. July 4th always causes me to reflect on one of the greatest things about our nation. As a young farm boy, I’d never have imagined the enormous opportunities I was afforded -- our nation of opportunity made this possible. As I consider the capacity of the technology challenges we are undertaking, it's with a pride of American innovation that together we are creating the tomorrow of our great nation for our children and grandchildren. I'm proud of the rich history of innovation in America and optimistic that we can continue that tradition.
