This week, @patel0phone led a session on early user acquisition for our accelerator founders. Key is to understand the situation you're solving: a moment in someone's life/work that creates the need for your solution (sell to situations, not just personas/ICPs) This community of early users, built with effort piece by piece, is what offers this profound clarity on the real situations your users face.

My hottish take is that I think if you’re building in consumer healthcare, it’s easier to teach someone how healthcare works than to teach someone how building consumer products work Healthcare is confusing but it’s not rocket science - you’ll get it with enough conversations/reading Learning how build consumer products that people actually use…that’s dark arts. It requires an intuition around how people tick that is borderline sociopathic.

one key learning from running an accelerator: curating founders is crucial, maybe more so than other program elements teams at similar stages allow for shared war stories, honest feedback, and solidarity. your role shifts to facilitating situations that lead to these interactions
