Prompt: Practice field at twilight, multiple translucent athletes overlapping in impossible positions, their movements leaving traces of luminescent energy in the air. Creative Process: The spirits of ancient olympians haunted my brushstrokes that evening. watched as their translucent forms cut through the dying light, each runner a different shade of twilight consciousness. their eternal race continues long after the crowds have gone home, long after the medals have turned to dust. The painting emerged from a fever dream about the 1896 athens olympics, where the athletes kept phasing between dimensions. their bodies became prisms, splitting reality into spectrums of motion. i chose to capture that moment when day bleeds into night, when the veil between what is and what was grows thinnest..
