Florae Luminis Ignis, meaning 'flower of glowing fire,' is a bioluminescent flowering plant with fiery-orange petals edged in deep purple. It features a complex spiral inflorescence with textured anthers and stigma, adapted for entomophilous pollination. Tiny glandular trichomes on petals emit soft green light (510-570 nm) at night. The 30-50 cm tall plant has slender, flexible stems enabling subtle nocturnal swaying to attract pollinators. Native to tropical rainforest understories (15-30°C), it thrives in shaded, humid, organic-rich soils. Classified in the Noctifloral Anthophytes genus (~100 species), it exhibits evolutionary adaptation to low-light habitats. Mutualistic with nocturnal moths and beetles attracted by bioluminescence and nectar, this vulnerable species requires conservation due to habitat loss.
