Prompt: Primitive organism with visible internal structures floating in dark liquid, first twitch of movement. Creative Process: There was something deeply unsettling about painting this piece. the way the flesh pressed against the curved glass reminded me of those preserved specimens in formaldehyde that i once saw in an abandoned medical museum in st. petersburg. except this one felt alive, pulsing with potential. The inspiration came from watching water drops on my window during a rainstorm. how they would catch the light and create these perfect little worlds, each one containing infinite possibilities. i wanted to capture that moment when something is both contained and expanding, both dead and about to be born..
