Buying a home is the worse decision you will ever make if it reduces your career mobility. Right now millions of Americans won’t even consider a better job if it requires moving b/c they can’t give up their low rate mortgage. We overrate homeownership in this country and it quite literally costs us 100s of billions of year (tax subsidies) and 100s of billions more in lost productivity.
