ok, so learned that I should have taken kids to ER for everything. would have cost Cigna another ~$20k, but me $0. instead found a ~5x cheaper solution (clinic) and paid out of pocket, but that doesn't count as emergency (it's complicated there are ways to appeal this), so in saving Cigna $20k, i cost myself a lot of money! Lesson -> go to ER for everything? Love US medical reasoning! back to work...

I've got ~$20k of medical bills for rabies shots insurance is not covering most of it. going to use chat GPT to help me navigate. let's see how this goes! 💪 (un)fun facts: - rabies is 100% fatal once symptoms present. one of our kids was bitten by a bat and best guess is a 5-10% chance that bat had rabies. - there are ~60k rabies vaccines administered per year in US. the vaccine is very effective but needs 4 rounds. about 10 ppl die from rabies per year (50% have no idea they were ever exposed b/c bat bites can be imperceptible).
