A demoralized IRS that has lost a quarter of its staff since inauguration and been subjected to unprecedented political interference is a threat to US state capacity, fiscal solvency, prosperity and national security.    The new Commissioner's overdue resignation suggests overdue recognition of the problem by the @realDonaldTrump administration.
