Good parents don't tell, they show, but so many parents can't show because they've stopped training, learning, creating long ago.

We unfortunately live in a society where if you spend a lot of time reading books for fun, adults around will ask, "what for?" The same adults are then surprised that their kids, who grew up without ever seeing their parents reading for fun, never fell in love with reading.
