President Trump signed an executive order allowing Americans to allocate 401(k) retirement funds into Bitcoin and other digital assets. The president’s order directs the Labor Department and other agencies to redefine what would be considered a “qualified asset” under 401(k) retirement rules.

The executive order rewrites the definition of a “qualified asset” under ERISA (the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974).

It extends beyond just BTC, it includes many "alternative assets" such as real estate & private equity. You *could say* that it unshackles Baby Boomers to degen with their retirement accounts 😂 This does open up a bit of a Pandora's Box.

IIUC this means new bundled products financial advisors can shill (I mean recommend) to their clients. This probably juices markets, particularly Bitcoin products. It could also mean more risk & exposure to volatility in retirement accounts. Everyone, even Baby Boomers, has to experience "the HODLer's Journey"
