They've been sailing the seven seas, digging up buried treasure, and making scurvy dogs walk the plank but now they've finally arrived. Put your hands or... hooks together for your favorite scalliwags, the unsinkable PIRATE. Yes, it's time again for an exciting new class to be released into the wild so they can in turn release the kraken and on and on.
For a full rundown of Pirate abilities and mechanics, check out the great write-up posted in our combat-system-updates channel in discord (). But first, here's a quick summary of a few of the more consequential features: Repeat: This keyword introduces a new mechanic whereby the current skill gets triggered again immediately after without costing mana. Check out Starboard Cannons for a chance to Repeat. That's six cannons instead of three! Dice Rolls and Coin Flips: If you're feeling lucky, then you're in luck! The pirate makes use of dice and coin flips, primarily through the Luck of the Sea discipline, to determine the outcome of certain abilities. I wouldn't be surprised if they've got a two-sided coin or two tucked away in their pockets. Barrier Busting: The pirate brings along a handy ability called Blunderbusster that has the chance to destroy barriers and walls on the enemy team. No shield is strong enough to withstand the sheer chaos of a good blunderbuss. There's still so much more to explore with Pirate so read up on their abilities in-game or in Discord to get an idea which disciplines speak to you and synergize abilities to truly unlock the power of the sea. You are the pirate captain now!
Tournament Updates Our tournaments will now use "All Unique Classes" as a standard setting, meaning your team of 3 must include 3 different classes. This should help keep things more balanced and interesting in tournaments! Check out this weeks tournament schedule!
Banked Shot Clock + Sudden Death We have updated tournaments so that if a player's remaining banked shot clock is higher than the remaining time before sudden death starts, it will be adjusted down to reflect the remaining sudden death time minus the shot clock duration. If sudden death has started, all banked shot clock time will be forfeit. This should help make tournaments more rewarding and exciting for both players and spectators.
