💯 agree w AJ most protocols are not in a place to do buybacks - if only bc they’re still using their tokens as financing sources. Silly to buyback w one hand and sell w another!

Hot take: This constant push by investors (retail and institutional alike) for early stage protocols to conduct buybacks is one of the biggest mistakes our industry is making.
We need protocols to be prioritizing growth. No startup whether centralized or decentralized can afford to not prioritize growth. It is better to do it with revenues than token inflation.
I would say many projects suffer from “good product, bad business” where it’s unclear how they will ever return cash to investors. Stablecoins & chains are big offenders in this category, but DeFi protocols in general often lack a clear plan
