From trying gpt-5 for the last several hours now I will say: I cant tell much of a difference between it and o3. It is an always reasoner as far as i can tell Might feel like a bit bigger model, but smaller and not as good as 4.5 on tasks that arent benefitted by reasoning Still seems to try to give short <8k responses Still has the same gpt personality, ive resigned myself from ever thinking itll break out of it The people who read the stories it wrote had mixed reviews Probably will mog benchmarks but i couldnt tell any differences Doesnt have the no knowledge no soul feel that gpt-oss has at least, but less than 4.5 Feels like 4o full maybe? With a bit of 4.5ish feel but not quite there Idk, cant say it feels like the difference between 3.5 to 4 to me but maybe ill be surprised by the livestream by something i havent yet explored about it
