the @worldcoin ecosystem is gaining momentum. here's an update on what's happened in the 2 months since I published my deep-dive on World -> current high lvl metrics (as of 8/4): User Growth Despite Hardware Constraints? -over 1.8M new humans were verified. that's a 14% jump despite falling well short of their goal of 7,500 orbs in the US by EOY. -with only ~1,859 active orbs globally, they have lots of work to do to meet their target. however, the outlandish user growth projections don't seem as crazy considering how constrained they are by hardware availability. just imagine the growth rate once orb minis are launched... Mini App Explosion: -the mini app ecosystem went from 150 apps to 300+ -11M $WLD has been transacted across mini apps -currently ~5.4M daily mini app opens -World enabled native usdc payments, meaning mini apps can now accept real stablecoin payments directly. this opens up actual business models beyond pure token speculation. -there's a @PufLaunch competition you can participate in right now. puf is running a "create & win" event from 8/3 to 9/1 where every token you launch equals one raffle entry. they're giving away 2,500 $WLD to 10 winners, and it's verified humans only. Inflation Slowing? -300M new $WLD tokens entered circulation in just two months (that's a ~20% increase). -the inflation rate has actually slowed down from the 598% YoY growth we saw as in may (May '24 to May '25), but we're still seeing ~120% annualized inflation based on an avg of ~10% inflation for the past 2 months. -no matter how much adoption grows, this level of token emission continues to create serious headwinds for price appreciation. World ID Credentials: -the launch of world id credentials represents a major expansion of access and utility. users with nfc passports from countries like the us, uk, japan, and south korea can now join without orb verification. -similar to what humanity protocol is doing, you can now prove specific things like "i'm over 18" or "i'm a us citizen" while keeping all that data on your device.
