Previously, someone asked me: If I haven't completed KYC yet, will I be unable to receive my claims? Indeed, according to FTX's rules, if KYC is not completed by June 1, 2025, theoretically, one cannot participate in the distribution. However, a new motion has been submitted, arguing that creditors who are unable to complete KYC due to technical issues (such as system crashes, file upload failures, uncooperative FTX customer service, etc.) should not be excluded from the distribution, and therefore request the court to grant an extension. More importantly, this is a very typical "Joinder" motion, which means that even if you are not the initiator of the motion, you can "ride along" to receive the same protections and opportunities. If you are facing a similar situation, I strongly recommend keeping an eye on this motion and considering whether you need to take action.
The hearing is scheduled for August 12, 2025 (Tuesday) at 9:30 AM (Eastern Time). Location: U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware (824 North Market Street, 6th Floor, Courtroom No. 3, Wilmington, Delaware 19801) You can apply to join remotely via Zoom.
