the past ~month or so i've suddenly started seeing a bunch of people in crypto and in the financial regulatory/enforcement world who are unironically excited about crypto because of the financial surveillance it could empower, and that scares the shit out of me

so i get that jurors can't be asked to drop everything (beyond what they already do, missing work etc)
but i also cannot imagine being a defendant facing decades in prison and hearing there's a delay because a juror needs a pedicure for their mom's all-day birthday party
