I finally remembered this memecoin lore that my intern have been asking me to share on CT.
When Coinbase launched Base, I was one of the early ones to deposit funds into the chain. Back then there was no bridge website, just an ETH mainnet address on the Base docs page (sus af).
I saw a token named $BALD and thought that this was hilarious. Bought it without thinking too much, 5x my money in a day iirc then sold it before it rugged and used some of the profits to buy 2 new iPhones.

This is actually very true. Been running CoinGecko for 11 years and our growth has pretty much tracked the growth of the crypto market.

It sounds basic but it's not
You think how much you work on your product and how great you make it work is what will make your revenue go up
But usually it's just the market and then if that market grows or not
That's why I like to throw spaghetti on the wall and try different markets until I see something stick and I see a potential market that is growing or I think will grow in the future
More important than your product I think

Crypto is a meritocratic industry and attracts many talented people. It doesn’t matter where you are located and you can access global capital markets via VCs or ICOs. You can build a world-class product and reach a global user base from Day 1. This industry rewards people handsomely for hard work and for managing risks well. Tough to find another industry where talent from developing countries can succeed internationally without relocating.
