Buying a home is the worse decision you will ever make if it reduces your career mobility. Right now millions of Americans won’t even consider a better job if it requires moving b/c they can’t give up their low rate mortgage. We overrate homeownership in this country and it quite literally costs us 100s of billions a year (tax subsidies) and 100s of billions more in lost productivity.
