Congressman, America has a "physician shortage" because of our laws. You're in Congress. You could fight to change them! We have a system that creates a domestic doctor cartel. We could open additional medical schools and fund additional residencies. We could lower the barriers to entry — why do doctors still need a full 4-year undergraduate degree just to start medical school? All of this could change. But instead of offering additional opportunities for Americans who want to practice medicine, you want to just import foreign doctors who we know are routinely less qualified and less trained than American doctors. Some of them even have fraudulent credentials! Stop putting American young people last.
