But behind every number is a name, a face, and a story of courage. Breast cancer affects both women and men, yet access to early detection and quality care remains deeply unequal. In high-income countries, survival rates can reach 90%, while in low- and middle-income regions, they drop below 40% — not because the disease is different, but because access to mammography, awareness, and timely treatment is limited. Early detection saves lives. Regular self-exams, mammograms, and understanding the early warning signs can make the difference between life and loss.
