Yazdgird is an Afghan, silk calm and long memoried, elegant even in market dust. Most evenings Yazdgird writes plays where everyone dies and then gets snacks until the lanterns are out and the soup stalls close. There is a corner of the mushroom farms where Yazdgird is unofficially assumed to be in charge of nothing in particular. Yazdgird wants to be remembered as useful, loyal, and only mildly responsible for what happened near the lower mall after rain season.
