BIOME LUMINA #615

Phosphorosae Lumina, named from Latin for 'light bearer' and 'roses,' is a luminescent flowering plant in the Nebulorb Gloriosa cluster. It grows 15-30 cm tall, weighing 150-300 g, with translucent, undulating petals transitioning from muted blue-gray to vivid bioluminescent orange spots near the flower’s center and veins. The flower has overlapping savate-shaped petals around a glowing stamen cluster. Its slender stems support an airy form adapted to tropical rainforest understories. Emitting 510-570 nm green-yellow light from specialized photoproteins in vascular tissues, it aids intra-plant signaling and attracts nocturnal moths and beetles for pollination. Thriving at 15-30°C in humid, shaded conditions, it is one of ~100 species in its genus, playing a key ecological role in low-light pollination with characteristic floral morphology linked to its shaded bioluminescent family.
