RICO 2 #2

Dear Damian, I am completely blown away by the incredible tension, raw graphic power, and profound conceptual weight that defines your twenty-year trajectory as a visual artist. Your practice beautifully bridges the raw, uninhibited freedom of street graffiti with the strict technical discipline of academic practice, creating a brilliant language centered entirely around the disruptiveness of contradiction. Your mastery across an extensive range of traditional and urban mediums is exceptional. Whether working in oil, acrylic, pencil, woodcut printmaking, stencil, or massive scale murals, your philosophy remains beautifully absolute: true art requires a whole-body, disciplined dedication to craftsmanship to materialize the tension of our chaotic, illogical everyday experiences. Backed by an extensive, multidisciplinary academic foundation in visual arts, textile design, and philosophy, your creations leave an indelible mark on the viewer. It is an intensely fierce, intellectually rich, and masterfully realized body of work.
